Fitted my 7 dial dash today.

No wonder Vauxhall struggled to make money in the 70's - it took me 3 hours to build and fit!

That's my auxiliary fuse and relay box in the passenger foot well, it's on a fold down panel.

I made a GRP tank cover for the boot, got it fitted too.

Got the ferry booked for Billing so the push is on!

Got the front screen fitted tonight using one of Paul Callum's screen rubbers. Got to be the best rubbers you can get. It's a bit wider so doesn't tuck in around the corners.

Just waiting on the rear ones to be made now.

Original Firenza 2300 Sport SL rear seats and steering wheel cleaned up and ready to fit.

The early parcel shelf has a speckled finish whereas the later ones had a leather grain effect. It changed about mid '72.

Another rare part from my roofspace. You don't see many of these. Brand new unused original Vauxhall carpet. I bought it from a Vauxhall dealer who had ordered it in for a customer that never collected it.

£5 and it was mine......back in 1980! :D

The Firenza drove out of the carport tonight. The first time I have ever driven it.....ever! All of 10 yards.. LOL but an exciting 10 yards. First time in 36 years that car has moved under it's own power.

Just a few small things to get ready for MOT next week - tyres, headlight alignment, fit the mirrors and sunvisors, tighten the rear suspension bolts and finish fitting up the front wings and numberplate.

Sitting on a set of Minilights borrowed from our Minor. Just need a grille and it's off to the MOT centre on Saturday!

The car's not finished by a long shot, the doors and window seals plus door cards and air filters are but a few of the items awaiting attention. I still have to build the 9 and 10 x 15 split rims and get the tyres fitted. I'm not happy with the height of the front end either and inch or so lower would help the look. :D
