The Return of PPJ 177L 'The White Knight'

Postby Mjones » Tue May 07, 2013 10:18 am

Garage find HC Estate PPJ 177L is now on the road again after 24 years, MOT passed with no major issues. I was warned however that the upper suspension arm bushes were deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement. I can attend to this a bit later.

However, on the way to the testing station I could hear a low pitched whine which got progressively worse on the return journey. It seems to be the gearbox but my first actions will be to double check that both the axle and gearbox actually contain oil! I had to replace the original gearbox due to none engagement of gears, It looks as if I will have to drag it down from my attic and re-evaluate!

But not to worry , this will be overcome, other than gearbox/axle issues the vehicle performs superbly, plenty of pulling power in that 1256 lump! At least I now have a couple of months to fully prepare "The White Knight for Billing. :D
