Really like the Sprintmasters. Remind me of the old Appliance Steels from the 70's.

Not so sure on thr bonnet stripes ot rear spoiler. Like the black 'B' pillar and rear panel. The 'shark vents' could do with being more angled to match the wheel arch or vertical to align with the door, and the body line could kick up behind the rear quarterlight like the Chevette HS. Or, forget the body line all together and add some black to the rear pillar behind the quarterlight to make it look slimmer.

Blacked out grille and panel behind it is a must.

Being serious now... If you want to really try the scheme out why not buy some vinyl wrap and have a go.

The 5 spoke sprintmasters were used on our gtr toranas they are an all alloy rim that's what started the ideas rolling.
Thanks for the advice 1972nail I was a bit iffy about the spoiler too :P and it would probably look cleaner without the bonnet stripe.
You're right the vents would look way better following the wheel arch angle and blacking out the lip that follows the windows might look pretty good.
I agree with the blacking out of behind the grill 100%
Buying the vinyl wrap would be the next step I was just trying it out on paint to see if it looked laughable first.
Might just mask it off on the parts car and hit it with some chassis black, and try it on the standard with vinyl once its painted.
Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Nice to see you pushing on with the project.
The spares car is from 67. They dropped the mouldings and blacked out the grill to get rid of them before the HB Torana arrived. I personally don't like what they did but there are some improvements such as the SL boot lock, full UK spec boot mat and reversing lights wired to the parking light circuit (really annoying when everyone tells you your front parking lights are on) They must have sold a lot of them because they were everywhere in the 90's when I started playing with Viva's. Looks like it will provide you with some good spares.
I plan on booking my flights home this week I will give you plenty of notice if your still keen on popping over to Adelaide. You might not be aware but the Vauxhall owners club of Australia has the national rally on in Adelaide in January if you want to kill two birds with one stone.

I'm hoping to make it in January, might make the end of the Nationals if I'm lucky :D
Was a pity to strip the car, It would have been in good condition when it was parked. It was such a swamp in there though and combined with the rat nests I almost wanted to forget about trying to salvage anything.
Persevered though and have a full set of glass in case anything happens and the seats are solid enough to get re trimmed, Deluxe rear trim panels are good too. Hopefully get a fair bit done now spring is here.

Looks great!

I have been sorting through everything today. I will be selling all sorts of stuff including twin SU manifold and lots of NOS. Are you still coming to Adelaide for the rally? We are having a big sale on Sunday. Feel free to ring on 0427719153 if you want anything.

Cheers
Andrew
