Both rear cylinders replaced, had a little trouble with fittings as nuts were rusted to the pipe.

after a little heating and some wd40 all was well.

back to the mot centre which was very busy 2 hr wait and a pass.

Just a service to do tom & pack tent in the car.

Pulled the Viva out today as not been used since last sep. New battery and started 1st time. :)

Just a couple of questions, since I've had the car when shifting from 1st to 2nd there is a crunch. I've learned to live with it as if I change slot slower and ease the clutch up it limits the crunch. I'm guessing it's a syncro and needs a rebuild at some point?

Also need to sort out my sunvisors as they have turned to powder inside and dropped down. What are people doing re- trimming them as I'm guessing most that are secondhand are in the same condition.

Are hc or chevette ones the same.

Thanks.

Yes your probably correct in suggesting the syncro hub, although if fitted its more likely to be the baulk ring which will be worn or cracked, either way it means the box needs stripping.
