Evening everyone.

New to the forum, Just bought the red Sl90 that was on ebay.

The viva was ment to be for my partner Annie but shes still getting used to it, finds it hard due to the heavy steering.

Started to do a few little things today.

The arches are a little scabby as are the sills both sides this seems to be mostly surface rust.

Ive only found one hole so far which is the arch corner/wheel well, this will be treated and patched on sunday.

I found the name of the owner who restored it back in 1996 in the gearbox area & a message from i guess his wife pat from 2000 wishing him a happy 55 birthday. Is he still a member of the club?

Took a few photos tonight just before it got dark.

Think you got a sound buy there. Steering shouldnt be that heavy, check tyre pressures, think they should be 24psi all round. Check to see if there is oil in the rack and any other obvious parts for lack of lubrication.

Tony you are right. Didn't realise it was the same car we'd spoken about. Nice to have another in the area.

Kris, I'll look forward to meeting you and the car tomorrow afternoon.

Just a small update..
Not done much to the hb since last sep due to work and family life.

Took her out the garage today brushed off the cobwebs connected the battery and fired into life on the 3rd turn. Brakes are binding abit which is a real pain, going to need looking at on the weekend

Only a small list of things to do before billing.

Got to book the mot, replace n/s upper ball joint, free off the brakes, replace front screen rubber and trim, rear screen trim as its missing, replace the door mirrors and get rid of the ford orion ones followed by a good service. Not to bad and hopefully another 12mths mot. Pasted last year with no advice so fingers crossed.

Removed the badges over winter for a clean and paint, not sure on the colors as were badly corroded. Think they came out ok.

changed the mirrors today for some tex ones that I had laying around from my opel kadett.

Looks nice. Did you sort the steering, they're usually very light?
