Evening, yes I did, replaced track rod ends, gave the rack a good clean and oil, and put some more air in the marshmellow tyres.

Handles pretty well now. Need to replace the bushes next.

As it was a nice sunny day thought id have ago at fitting the new screen rubber.

after phoning around afew places last week no one wanted to do it, just one person could do it but for £170 :roll:

not paying that so me and my dad done it. They make it look so easy on the youtube videos. took 2 hours and pleased to say its all fitted.

Well done, just shows you can do most things yourself if you just take your time and do your home work!

Thanks pete, always like to do as much of the work myself if I can. Just awaiting the filler strip tool to be delv so I can do the chrome trim.

Does anyone know if there is a product out there to preserve the rear screen rubber?
It hasnt split yet but starting to go hard.

Evening chaps,

Just a small update & a few photos.

Finished doing the front windscreen rubber, Added the sealant & chrome infill.

replaced the rear screen infill.

replaced the o/s upper balljoint.

All ready for the mot next week.

Bad news :(

failed mot on rear brakes.

other than that no advice on anything.

n/s showing no effort. Took it apart and cylinder is rusted solid.

just ordered two new ones so hopefully here before friday.

I've been reading good things about a product called "Gummi" - a chap restoring a Fiat 500 has been using it to clean and soften some of the rubber stuff on that. Part-way down this page: http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/forum/ph ... &start=495
