Hi guys i'm a reasonably new member but have owned my viva for almost 20 years. It has been sat in the garage untouched for a while but am now determined to have it roadworthy next year, I have recently scanned some photos from the work that has gone on over about the last 8 or 9 years and thought i'd post them up with a recent one. I'm glad i got the engine bay painted in time before the bad weather which now allows me to re-fit the engine and box over the winter.

1st day of proud ownership of a towed home viva and in our usual british weather back in 94.
It spent about 6 month in our garage getting it running nice and sorting the brakes just in time for me to pass my test.

Work soon started to tidy up the bodywork making the best of what I could ready for use as my daily driver.

It was going to be painted bright yellow but ended up in this colour for some reason, could easily find it in a car park :)

The inner wings were a patchwork of repairs, it later had new outers and sills but the front and rear panels were more filler than anything.
These have all been now sorted and ready for the rest of the paint and fitting out, suspension rebuilt and next on the list is engine fit then new brake and fuel lines etc. It will never be perfect but it will be my much used and loved HB back on the road.

Reg number is NET248G.
Chassis number is 93511 ge 279969
The engine is going to be swapped for a known good 1256cc for the time being. After reading some old posts on the ACE section do I only need to supply the DVLA with the new engine number as it is registered with a 1256 or do I need to go through the rigmarole of having proof of supply and fitting?

Mine looks like it needs much the same work doing to it. What's you best guess as to how many man-hours you've put in to it? Rebuilt front end looks very nice.

Cheers Bazz. I wouldnt like to guess at the amount of time it has taken,(it's like when people used to ask the mpg of my old hilux surf, i'd rather not know:O)
i worked quite slowly making sure i left enough panel work to line othe parts up with.
One thing i would recommend is buying some of the small self drilling screws to roughly
fit the panels with initially, this allows for an amount of shuffling and once you're happy the
old welding gear can come out.

Cheers, turns out we already had it in our register along with chassis number and an engine number of 1282465. No pictures though so I will add those you have posted.

Since the cold weather set in and put a stop to any spraying, attention turned to a lick of paint and re-fitting of the engine.
