Oooh its fun watching someone else doing rust work. Gives me a break :-) When my wagon was up on the hoist I found one rails appears rotten in many places whereas the other one, the nearside, is fine. Weird. Im quite curious to see how far the rot extends.

Decided on the brake calipers for the front although first choice was Hispec, the reviews online are poor and are made to order, so choose wilwood which ive used before with no probs.

ill pop the axle back in and head towards the front, the sill on the osf as we go looks like it will need a bit more than the rear repair i need a while ago, cant say i'm looking forward the the front end as the inner wings have repair panels on them but from the underside they look good, so depending on what i find the wings may have to come off, :( front panel needs work as does the inner aswel.

Proper very high quality restoration work going on here. I wish I had the facilities and time to be able to do this. This car is really going to be superb! 8)

Thanks Colin, not sure about superb though. :)
Anyway off we go again after an idle winter, i had decided that i was going to get a professional to sort the front end out as the wings need to come off to renew the inner wings which have had flitch panels badly fitted at some time in its past.
Having contacted several classic car restorers ive been amazed and disapointed at the general lack of interest shown to be honest, so have decided to plod on and do it myself, its not that i cant do it, its mainly time and space, however that said, off with the first wing.

usual rot going on here as i expected to see.

Its had outer wings at some time which i guess are genuine ones but i was under the impression these rear wing supports were part of the wing, can anyone confirm please?

i'm a bit pushed for space working in a single garage so thought i would invest in a new toy, which will come in handy not only for the viva but the daily cars aswel, fantastic piece of kit if anyone is considering one.

I looked at one of those recently too. I was worried that my carport may not be tall enough to lift the car to a reasonable height.

This particular model is unique to the guy selling as i understand, they keep changing things on it after receiving customer feedback.
The headroom in my garage is limited but i can pick it up a metre or so, it also has pad extenders which looks to me would give you an additional foot on the 1.2 metre lift it already has, after you have faffed about fitting them, so no problem on the drive.
