Whilst in the States, it'd have been rude not to have taken back some signs!

And last, but not least... the cheesy door open/ closed sign from Walmart at a cost of $1.50 + tax!!!

Cheers,

Leigh.

Beautiful work on the floors. Do you have a beading machine?

Yes, they look very neat indeed. And nice to see one that still has the closing pieces just in front of the seat belt mounts. Are they the original ones, or have you re-made them?

Cheers guys! Yep, I got a cheapo bead roller on eBay. It was a bit bendy, so I strengthened it with some flat bar! Then of course, I had to get the correct rollers as it only went up to 1/2" beads. The membrane panels are indeed the originals, which surprised me a fair bit. You gotta love Vauxhall's concession to rustproofing in those days... check the thin gold-ish wavy line from the membrane forwards... stick the wand in the hole at the base of the a-post & pull it out as fast as humanly possible to save on materials!!! There's still a fair way to go with the shell, but I'm more than happy with the overall condition... it could have been a whole lot worse!!

Regards,

Leigh.

I once had a chat with someone who worked in Ellesemere Port on Viva production, he mentioned that they had about a minute to do the rustproofing insert on the sills for each car because of the line speed. Every so often the nozzle would clog up, so they'd have to clean it, but couldn't stop the production line. So some might have been missed, some might have less in while they don't notice the blockage, and so on. Not specifically to do with saving material, thought that will be on the mind as well I guess.

Hi everybody! Almost 3 months have gone by since I last posted! Been really busy with work as usual. Finally got some time to do some work on the Viva & also took last week off to do the very same thing... I do have a very understanding missus!! Anyway, here is a massive photo dump.. I'll let the pics do the talking :)

PS: My new Borg Warner EFR 7064 turbo & custom made manifold arrived this week... very, very nice & also a tad expensive! Never mind though. Oh, and another thing... should I go with black on the underside, or should I just go all out & go for the body colour to contrast with all the underpinnings? All feedback welcomed!

Regards,

Leigh.
