Cheers guys & Happy new year!! Hope you all had a good one
. Not been on here since September... oops!! Been busy with night shift work (that's me just home from another one!), so not a whole lot done to the Viva. Bought an eBay bead roller a few months ago (which was a bit wobbly, so I strengthened it with heavy duty flat bar & had to then buy the correct die to roll the floor pans on top of that!). Anyway, I've made up the new floor pans (found the originals had a bit more P40 than previously thought
) & they fit nicely. They'll be butt welded with the tig in as per the rest of the repairs. Still have to fold the inner sill edge of the front pair though! I also bought a NOS bonnet & a pair of NOS flat top wings (yes, they are the ones on eBay & no, I didn't pay the asking price... got them way cheaper as a package deal
). The wings both needed a bit of work to get the shut lines correct (the left was thought to be a repro', but fitted far easier than the GM right hand one, so it may be GM after all). They are going to be bolted on so that when required, I can clean the lovely solid inner wings & keep them free from debris! Flaking off the loose under body sealant revealed several shiny bare metal bits... Lovely! The new panels will save a whole lot of time & effort (not to mention cut out body fillering the repair sections... hate the stuff!) Also managed to get a left hand sill, but also had to resort to getting a 4 door left hand unit to make the right hand sill (will use the lower portion of my right hand arch & remake the front return to make it work). Anyway, I'd better get off to bed, but before I go, here are a few pics.
Cheers, Leigh.
