Any ideas as to what to use to recolour the textured hardboard that's the inner side panels in the load area, at the moment, it's green to match the old interior but I'm changing the interior to morrocco grey, I have the front seats & door cards already but will have to recolour the dash top & back seat with vynil dye, would using this be ok or maybe cellulose paint, any ideas ?

Vinyl coat would do it I would have thought John? - have a look in Hobby Craft shop I would think they would have a paint/colouring for hardwood - maybe something water based?

Tried a bit of cellulose paint on the hardboard
it seems to sit ok on it so i'll leave it a while & maybe use that, it's the correct colour that I had mixed to paint the metal part of the dash, theres a litre of it so should be enough, sprayed the inside of the load area
along with some smaller items, used a two pack paint with a non icocyanate hardener, used it before & it gives a good finish but takes ages to dry & tends to run easily

Any good paint should stick OK to the hardboard but as I'm sure you are aware (being an experienced painter) any contaminant on the original surface (dirt, polish, interior silicone coatings etc) will reduce long term adhesion.

For rear side board I recently painted mine with UPVC aerosol spray paint, designed for kitchen cupboards and UPVC windows. Available in RAL colours, I used Beige Grey RAL2006 to closely match my interior colour, and also painted the plastic arch covers, and it really does look absolutely fab. Not glossy and not matt, a light sheen satin.

Who manufactures this & where do you get it ?, Is it ral 7006 as ral 2006 doesn't seem to exist ?
