Send me a photo of the pump? Adrian
P.S. Have you ensured that the fuel pump operating arm is running on the top of the camshaft lobe and not underneath it.?
It will still pump if mounted underneath, but at only about quarter of its true power. (little squirts!)

Subject: Re: Getting marvin ready
Are there differences between 1057, 1159 and 1256 fuel pumps, in terms of
the lobes on the back, not the fuel pipe fitments?
How important is a spacer with a fuel pump?
Which pump type is correct for a 1159 SL90 engine?
How can I tell if the pumps I have are the correct sort?
How thick is the spacer between engine and pump?
with those questions in mind here is where I think the problem with marvin
lies, in the 10 months of ownership I have driven approximatly 8 miles so
far and in that time used 4 fuel pumps.
Yesterday was my last day in which to play with the car in order to get it
running for Billing. But all I ended up doing was making the car worse
rather than better.
I swapped the rubber fuel hose from the pump to the carb... as that may of
caused a vapor lock. I replaced it with a the correct metal fuel rail (the
sort that goes around the rocker cover) and new rubber hoses and jubilee
clips.
I also drained out the fuel tank, in case it was water logged, and added
fresh new fuel. Also checked the hoses for blockages NONE found.(dampness
on inside of fuel cap found upon inspection).
The car now appears dead.... I am wondering if the fuel pump has failed
yet again... if so this points to being a serious issue of the engine
eating pumps, or a fundemental issue of wrong pump types on the engine...
Anyways those are just my thoughts for now, ideas, helpful hints on fuel
pumps types, etc welcome
