I've been using the car round town for about a week or more. Took it on a longish (45 mile) country drive and it overheated!
I've never seen the temp gauge move before and suddenly it was half way. It never went too much above that, maybe a couple of needle widths over half, but it was clear things weren't right. When I stopped, it chucked out a load of coolant down the overflow pipe.
I am hoping it was an airlock in the cooling system. I changed one of the jubilee clips the other day and thought I'd bled it - but perhaps I hadn't.
After filling it up, I drove it between 30 and 70 MPH and it seemed OK. Temp gauge was moving but never reached half way.
Oh, well, let's hope it makes the trip to Billing.
