1974 Coyote SL

It seems I've decided to keep the SL I bought as a parts chaser this summer. It's quite solid and runs ok. There's a bit to to though before I can registrate it here in Norway. One thing.., this is NOT going to be an expencive resto. I'm only going to do minor things to keep it running and of course keep the retro race look.

Reason for the "Coyote" name: The colour and for being Fast (?) & FURRYous

First thing is to clean out the heater matrix and repair some rust in front of it.

All cleaned, primed, and ready. Also abit of new body sealant in its places.
After I cleaned it and gave a rubdown I applied a thin coat of OWATROL, a thin rust penetrating and protective oil that hardens.
After that a coat of tough red Construction Primer and at last a thin coat of ZincCoat.

Looking more healthy now.
The white shiny stuff are a heatresistant penetrating wax.
Also put on a new foamseal which also is wax filled.

Next is to cover all this up with the cowl.
Better do something about this as well...

Looks abit better now doesn't it?! :)
As the cowl was very rusty on the surface I didn't bother to sand it down and use filler on it.
Instead I grinded down the worst and brushed on a thin layer of Owatrol before I primed it and used a structure coat.
I already had developed a "structure" New hoses for the heater,
and just to be posh, a brand new chromed heater valve.

On the pic there are 175/50. I think they look too low as the car ain't lowered (other than fully packed). I run on 175/70 now, but now I think it's too MUCH rubber. I'll try 175/60 too see if that looks better.

With 70 profile:

The foam rubber is a product I sell (INNOTEC). It's called Compress Tape and comes in dimentions of 10x10 mm and 20x20mm

Check here to see if Innotec UK can help you out:
