ok i am now ready to clean the engine bay on my cresta and get it painted,
but would like to know the best way to clean everything , engine, front axel and engine bay.

what do you use to clean these on your cars? how do you apply the cleaner? brush or spray?

anyone used a pressure washer with a cleaning liquid?

all advise and methods welcome

depends how dirty / oily the bay is . if u got a pressure washer - all the better . liberal dosing with degreaser such as gunk - best worked into the worst areas with a stiff paint brush - then a good blast with pressure washer , if no washer , then normal garden hose .

Just putting my Eco hat on for a moment - if you gunking, please think about where the stuff you wash off goes - gunk and similar de-greasers are lethal to aquatic life.......
Not lecturing, just letting people know.

what better endorsement for gunk - even eats up tarmac- they should put that on the can ! The wife's toothbrush is also very good for getting in all them small awkward places around the engine bay
But make sure you give it a good clean before putting it back in its holder !
