Griffon Kit Car

After using 2 bottles of plastic polish and a weekend of buffing, the exterior is looking reasonably presentable.
It's all cosmetic I know, but it looks like progress to the Mrs!
The main work is going to be getting to grips with the rust and the running gear.

The engine prior to head removal - mostly just surface corrosion.
The cooling pipes however, are a bit too far gone - I found several large chunks lodged in the thermostat housing.

The biggest problem so far is corrosion on the inlet manifold.
All the pipes and the banjo bolt are so far gone that they will need drilling oversize and re-tapping.

Oh well, if it was easy it wouldn't be fun!

Had a good look on ebay - can't see any that match.
Is it possible that I have a non-standard type?
Here's a pcture of it.

Does look a bit odd, but I'm no OHC expert, anyone know if this is a standard manifold or a special for the Griffon. Try sending a PM to the other chap who has a Griffon .

This weekend I am mainly giving the head a de-coke: I think it needs it !
Annoyingly I found that the auxilliary shaft seal was loose and when I looked further I found it had split its thrust washer at some stage in the past and had chewed the shaft and the locating spigot quite badly.

That manifold may be the same as the CF single carb one, not sure at first look.
If it is then I have some spares kicking about, and a used but good half shaft as well.

Steve.

Have a NOS manifold which looks very similar.
Any good for you ?

That does look quite similar, thanks.
I really appreciate the help - I need to get a bit further on with the strip down though, before I get any more parts.
I may even have to do an engine change once the weather warms up.
I'm a bit worried that I may seem an ungrateful s*d but I'm not far enough in to the restoration to tell which bits I need.
Thanks again.
