Hello Paul,

Thanks for that I must admit I had fully intended to go down the 2300, Twin headlight route but have been persuaded by others that it should remain original. I do intend however to fit a set of rostyles as I prefer them.

Is this the most exclusive sub section of the club or is my 1600 auto even rarer?????

Seamus,

VERY exclusive - and we have rules

Only strictly reversible mods... Ideally no mods at all!

More exclusive than 1600 Autos? Well there are more surviving cars that started off life as E coupes - about 75 - but very few that are still as they rolled out of Ellesmere Port. And that number is dwindling as they get "snooted" or otherwise customised.

I like them just the way they were originally intended!

Hello Mark,

Point taken, do you know of any suppliers of the red tartan seat material that was fitted to our cars, I have a small rip in the driver's seat and would like to repair it.

I did advertise on the website but got no reply, you would have thought that with all the E's being modified there should be a pile of original interiors lying around in garages all over the country!!

Hi Fraser

I've been hunting for the seat fabric too - and while I've not managed to track any new material down, the old seats are out there.

I have similar problems - there's a fag burn on the rear seat and the rear seat back is very faded.

I do have a complete second set of seats and there's another back seat on the way. None of them are perfect - I'm trying to work out the best set and take it from there. Was planning on some experimental dyeing - or possibly trying to reverse the fabric (should be the same pattern on the other side, and won't have faded).

Might be able to help you out once I've finished this - certainly I've got a back seat back that doesn't look useable complete but might yield enough fabric for a repair.

Still hopeful that original fabric can be sourced....

Cheers

Mark

Hello Mark,

Thanks for that I will try another advert and see what happens, my seats are perfect apart from the rip in the driver's seat however, as with all Viva interiors they have faded badly. I quite like the idea of reversing the fabric, I hadn't thought of that.

I will keep you posted if I come across anything,

Regards, Fraser.
