It's fairly rare, a J plate HC, to me anyhow, I'm not sure I've seen one that age in the metal. Seen a few J plates in photos of testing and development stages of the car, publicity shots and so on. It's a long way from home, reg. number suggests it was Brighton area registered.

DVLA says:

Date of Liability 23 12 2011
Date of First Registration 12 05 1971
Year of Manufacture 1971
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1159cc
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour GOLD

Quite an early HC, although £500 if its rusty on the floors etc is a bit much.

Chappy managed to get some pictures - (your lucky dat Pete !)

Doesn't look bad for £500 - must have had an MoT not much more than 12 months ago
There are J Reg HCs about Thomas - I had one up until a couple of years ago with less than 3000 miles on the clock :P
