Spotted a couple of days ago a droop snoot outside a small garage on the outskirts of the village. Apparently it suffered an engine fire after being laid up for some time.

Leaky Strombergs most likely! The O rings in the bottom harden up and leak all over the starter.

For once you cant blame those o rings !! as I'm told it runs on Dellorto's....though no doubt they also contain equally perishable seals.

Mine went up because the Dellortos spat back into the DTV fibreglass airbox and set the paper element on fire. That was a surprise, I can tell you. Luckily the guy whose house I stopped outside had a fire extinguisher.
