Vauxhall Viva 1971 - Garaged since 1991

Hi,

My father in law passed away a couple of years ago and we have decided to sell his Vauxhall Viva. Due to his ill health the Viva has been sat in a garage since around 1991.

I have had a couple of people asking me to buy it but i would be grateful if one of your members could give me some advice about approx price.

I have seen various prices for Viva's on the internet.

I have put as many details below as possible, if you need any more info let me know.

Vauxhall Viva Gold 2 door.
Approx 21000 miles.
Engine does not turn over with key but can manually turn.
Electrics, wipers, heater, lights, radio all work when connected to new battery.
Based - Stockport, Greater Manchester.
I have attached some photos, i have more but only allowed to add 3.

Thanks

Dave.

From looking at the photos it will make a nice car for someone who is prepared for a little work. It needs some paintwork and a complete brake recommissioning exercise as well as a full service and proper clean. It's not often you see early 1159cc deluxe HC cars with the original 4" wide wheels these days.

If you have paperwork to substantiate the low mileage then all the better.

It's very hard to value any car without seeing it fully and in detail

Thanks for the reply.

Yes we do have the paperwork but i would have to go through it to check the service records.

My father in law bought this car from new.

Was just looking for a rough value but i understand this is not easy from photo's.

Hi, as David has said it is nice to see an original early car. Your father in law obviously looked after it. Unfortunately it is very difficult to value without seeing it but I would say someone could be willing to pay upto £1750 due to age, condition, low mileage and paperwork to back this up. It would be advantageous to get the car running as this would aid a sale. This is only my opinion and it really is a case of how much someone wants to pay.

Thanks Marcus, i appreciate your reply.

I think we will just sell as non runner as don't really have the time to fix.

Yes it was very well looked after until ill health caused it to be garaged.

A couple of people have enquired about it so it does give me a rough idea on price.
