Thanks Paul, Don't get me wrong or take this the wrong way, no criticism or complaint is implied or intended - I'm well aware of the voluntary nature of the site and the great deal of work that has gone into it, before posters even begin making their own appreciable contributions - I've raised this again purely in a spirit of curiosity and co-operation in getting to the bottom of it. For many this site IS the club -in its entirety, particularly for those far removed from the southern-centric club heartlands; the magazines, shows, spares events, committees and bureacracy are secondary - remote irrelevancies - even if that is counter to the evolution of the club, where an online resource and contact point was latter-stage icing on an already tasty cake.
It does seem to be a server issue, whether the blacklisting is on an IP basis (this is a static IP block, I've only had these since October 2011) or results from an over-large blacklist of the whole 82.69.0.0/17 subnet or greater, isn't clear; there's no point in me requesting a different /29 from zen, to accomodate one website, and then finding the problem persists; if the hosting company or the server instance (this is more likely as all the 403's redirect (custom error handling ?) to a red on white griffin logo and then again after a few seconds to the the top level homepage) are blacklisting huge swathes of ip address space from accessing most non-text content, this can be resolved. As we discussed by phone a few weeks back, I doubt I'm singularly affected by this, just no-one else has noticed what's wrong or thought it worthwhile delving deeper, I've spent some time eliminating every possible likely and unlikely local cause; transient users might just consider the site a W-I-P (like many of our cars) and think registering or joining would probably resolve it.
Any further information I can give you, don't hesitate to ask. I'll try your suggestion too.
