Viva HB front brake conversion kit

Postby ADRIAN » Sat Nov 30, 2013 7:55 pm

I have available for sale, a nearly complete kit to convert a drum braked Viva HB / or even a small disc Viva HB, - up to the larger Viva GT / Magnum 10" front disc brake type set up, and with added bonus of twin system brake pipes.
The kit combines the following parts:
A fully reconditioned "special" Girling Servo, (I believe that it is ex "E" type Jag) It is "special" because this is a "Girling" Servo that is designed to have a Lockheed twin system master cylinder fitted to it. (The normal Viva HB Girling servos can only have a Girling master cylinder attached - different stud spacing)
A reconditioned, Lockheed twin system (Viva GT export type) master cylinder to match the servo.
These items had cost over £300 to have reconditioned by specialists "Past Parts", let alone the cost to buy the parts initially. I have BILLS to prove the reconditioning cost outlay for these.
A pair of used, and correct Viva HB type, servo fixing brackets, - in order to fit this Girling servo unit to the HB body. (You cannot use Viva HC brackets)
A pair of very good used larger Viva GT stub axles (the same as Magnum/Firenza) These are all complete, with the HUBS / with the disc fitting bolts / caliper fitting bolts / the "correct" longer steering arms and even the brake pipe holding brackets. (The buyer will need to fit NEW wheel bearing kits to the hubs - as a matter of course obviously)
and finally, a pair of BRAND NEW 10" solid brake discs - value £100
The buyer will need to buy on top, in order to make this kit complete as a full set up, a pair of new brake dust shields, available from Keith May (Vauxhall Green Parts) and a pair of calipers. (The Girling type calipers are the same as spec as used on Triumph Herald 1360 and are still available either NEW or reconditioned)
This kit is ideal for anyone modifying their Viva HB (by fitting a larger engine together with the large rear axle) to enable better front brakes to stop the thing! I am looking for £500 for these conversion parts. They will be advertised at a much higher cost than this if I place them on Ebay, so I thought I'd give members a first chance.
If any interest please contact me - I can send photos if required.
