Been a hell of a long time since I first started this thread, the car has not changed or been started but we have now started cleaning the car off and work will begin on the car.
We are still trying to research the car although we are onto a few leads,
Plan is to rebuild the car and race it in the HSCC.
We are still struggling finding pics of the car so if anyone can help we would greatly apreciate it, when we first got the car it came with a clipping from the motoring news showing the cars accident as to how it got in it's presant state, we have misplaced this but are trying to find images on the net.
When the car is down on the ground I will get some picture posted up and start a project build thread

Um

Past sales of such cars has proved that, especially in the case of heritage race cars, it is not necessarily the car or it's condition that dictates how much it MAY be worth. (In practical terms anything is only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for it)

Something that has in the past mattered most is WHO drove it, where and when. If you can prove provenance for the vehicle and a have a famous name to put to it as a driver, with some pics or documents, it MAY be worth a considerable amount. 15K seems a bit optimistic to me though.

Good luck

Dan

The £15k is just a base figure of how much we have been told it may cost to rebuild, this may sound cheap but is because all body and suspension/braking, assembly will be done by ourselves.

Through further research we now believe the vehicle belonged to (mad) Mike Newman, we have sent him a message and are awaiting a reply, we have also spoken to the vauxhall heritage centre who have been most helpful.
The heritage centre have reached out to some of there contacts and given us some leads as to where to look and who to speak to,
Again tho if anyone has any info on the car we would greatly apreciate it

I believe the Motorsport magazine archive is available on-line, so that might be a way to find out more about it, especially if you know it was covered in there at least once.
