Hi All
Joined a few months ago but just finding my way around the site. Been asked to post some pics so I will try!!!! Think I've cracked it (or at least the wife has!!!!). I live to the North of Darlington in Haughton le Skerne, near Great Burdon. I hope to be out and about in the car in the Spring/Summer. It's just passed it's MOT and the tester was wanting to buy it!!! No chance  You will all probably realise it's an SL90 1966. This model was my first car at 17 years of age (£150 then, 7 years old). Saw this one advertised by Ace Classic Cars at Leeds, who have had it on ebay too. It's got an 1159cc engine fitted instead of the 1057cc,not sure yet whether done at factory or later addition. The car is known to the club as I believe a previous owner was a member. It looks quite good I think you will agree with nice paint but I have had it mentioned by a friend that it's a shame whoever put the fibreglass wings on didn't rub em down properly before painting.Hope to meet a few of you in the near future.Regards Phil.

Welcome to the fold. Very nice car. The 1159 engine will have been fitted at somepoint in its life, not by Vauxhall/ The HA only ever had the 1057 engine, in Std, LC, and 90 forms.

The car was for sale in the Club Mag in 1998, it also took part in the Vauxhall 90th celebration road run. Whats the current engine No?

Hi,Thanks to you all for the welcome. Thanks Peter for the info. The engine no is shown as 21HA 79507 on thr V5 and on thr 'red' engine block but shows 1159cc in the V5. Chassis no is HAH 636594.Car was regd 1.4.66 (April fools day)lol.I must say I am a little confused to whats in there SL90 engine from what HA or perhaps HB? If I was a purist I would be hoping it's a 1057cc HA to keeps things right.Any idea's would be appreciated.Regards Phil.
PS Thinking about it could be a mistake on paper (V5).

Going from the engine No, and the fact it has a red block I would guess its the correct 1057cc engine and its a mistake on the V5. It was also pictured in the Summer 95 clubmag.

Peter, thanks for that.I would prefer it to be the original 1057cc really.I will probably have a word with Swansea and see what I can do to get it corrected on the V5.I might write to the previous owner and see if he knows anything. When I insured it we had a bit of a problem as it was showing 1159cc to them, they finally decided it to be insured as 1057cc so I need to sort it out really in case I ever change insurers and they get a bit funny about it.Regards Phil.

Finally got the engine size sorted on the V5.Swansea have accepted that it has the original 1057cc engine and not 1159cc as on V5.A nice lady rang me up and said that in 1994 a previous owner said it was 1159cc and not 1057cc she said in those days they just accepted what was said, things are different today and proof is required like the engine number of what is fitted. They told me they like to help getting things back to orginality and I now have a new V5 with 1057cc.
