Hello form Ireland with Polish accent :)

Postby G_LOBO_S » Thu May 10, 2012 7:54 pm

Hello

My name is Gregory. Me and my wife Anna are proud owners of Vauxhall Viva HC SL 1975 1256cc.
I wish I could be much more active in this forums but unfortunetly (or fortunetly?) my life is busy (sometime I think it is too busy:/) and I rarely have time for internet.
I wish I will be able to help some of you (please contact me by email) and I hope that you will be able to help me too.
I spend a lot of cah to rebuild my Viva and only thing which is left to do is paintwork, upholstery(just floors) and in future brakes and suspension. Engine is running beautifly after I reconditioned starter, rewired whole engine, cleaned and replaced many parts in carburretor, replaced gear-box and many many other things.

Greets :)

PS - in Spring2012 edition of the VVOC ReVival magazine there is a "My Viva" story about...my Viva :)

Its registration number, current registration number is - 75-G-902
Some might remember it with reg number - JKW 639P. I heard that it was in VVOC in the past before one guy frm Westport brought it to Ireland and then I eventually bought it from him and had to register (and change the plates) it in Ireland.

BTW - it looks similar to the one you have in your avatar HBPeter, maybe yours have more fresh colour only ;)

:welcome:
Greetings Grzegorz and Anna, car looks very tidy in the pictures, it looks quite a light red, almost pinkish, perhaps bleached a bit by the sun, but it might just the photos look like that, it's amazingly clean and shiny. I thought it might be improved visually if the upper half of the door frames were done in black to blend in better with the vinyl roof, but it's obviously original and best kept so.

Yes I've travelled in time, forward to Spring 2012, location Earth, everyone's wearing shiny suits and all have personal jet-packs (though they're not without their flaws) for personal mobility but Vivas are still to be found, this one is a red 4-door saloon JKW 639P formerly and now on Irish registration plates it is 75-G-902. You've already got it in the register Peter.

WOW. It looked really nice then. When it was so bright.
Yes, it looks pale (but not pink!:P) because of the sun. It is red when it is wet, and almost carrot when it is dry. It also has few rusty spots (someone may give me an idea how to prevent them getting bigger, sand-paper+special paint?) But I would love in future repaint it, I just wish I had a 1000-1500euros ;)
I was very close to repaint it but got cheated by a mechanic :( and instead of repainting it was just sitting in a garage for almost a year :( That was sad times and even police didn't want to help me recover it :/

Thanks Paul.
We will be talking on the phone more often if it will be less busy ;) Sometimes I spent one or two hours calling every minute and couldn't get through ;)
I wish one day I will be able to come on some VVOC Meeting. But this day is rather far away
