Hello from the USA

Postby 19charger74 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 4:49 am

Hello Everyone,

My name is Alfonso and i am currently restoring a 1980 Panther Lima, based on the viva/magnum floorpan and drive train. I am located out in Houston, Tx. USA so im a long ways from where most of guys are located. Well i decided to join the forum to hopefully get gain more insight on the car that this is based off. Im currently rebuilding the rear axle so i will be posting some questions in the Mechanical section and will be looking for parts to rebuild the car back to original. But i wanted to first introduce my self and will really appreciate any help / advice i can get :D

here is a video of the Panther

Hello and welcome

Feel free to ask anything you like, someone on here will know the answer... Any chance of some pics of your car. We like pics here.

Cheers
Dan

i swear that the search button was not there before ... maybe just me lol.

As far as obtaining parts, my plan is to try to see if i can compare the parts and see if they interchange with more common european cars that we have here like triumphs, MG, Austin Healey , etc. Hopefully you guys can chime in with suggestions or know of other parts from other cars that are the same on the Vauxhall. And if i cant obtain the parts that way i would have to order from your side of the pond. Problem i see is some companies dont offer international shipping so i will probably have to have it mailed to someone there in the UK and then mailed to me, which can get expensive. But it has to be done.

If I saw right in your pics ou have a slant engine in there, so your rear axle would be a magnum axle which is the same as Jensen healey one I think.
