New to the Club

Postby Team Gridlock » Sun Dec 30, 2012 2:26 pm

Hi everyone, my first vauxhall viva was a Monza red 1970 mk2 Viva GT (RAR 360H) which was my pride and joy and always regretted letting it go. However, my family bought me a Viva HB project for my christmas present which I cant wait to start.

I cannot be described as a pureist and hope that by changing some things I wont upset to many. The GT has always been my goal but they are like hens teeth, so my little HB is going to have to fit the bill. Not sure if the engine is a runner, but have a nice 360ci mopar and box in the workshop so that would mean axle chage, front struts, discs and chassis strengthen.

It has drums all round which i would definately want to change fronts to discs as a start.

I will post pics and progress as I go along and decide what route(s) to take.

(we run a comp altered dragster so do have a bit of mechanical knowledge, but will be asking all sorts of stupid and sensible questions about what fits what)

All I can say is I wish my family would buy Christmas boxes like that, instead mine talk of "money pit" but never mind eh. I do like watching over other people's builds. Nice one! :goodluck:

Hello and welcome, whats the reg number on the car? We dont mind cars getting modified, what we dont like is cars that get started to be modified and then left as a cut about wreak. Look forward to the pictures.

Yes, thats the one, will be starting stripping down next week, which unfortunately co-incides when we get the new dragster body out of the mold so will have some split loyalties
