Hi All

Hey everyone,

Thought I would pop a message on to say hello and ask a sneaky question at the same time.

I am classic car mad have been for a few years I have a young family so have been looking for a practical 4 seater for some time. The Viva HA has always been there or thereabouts on my list of top 5 I love it's rear headlights and styling. I subscribe to Practical Classics and this issue they had one in there as a 7 page article and it has persuaded me to finally let loose the classic car savings and buy one.

I have a small question before I go full steam in to buying one. I have two young boys George (3) and Benjamin (1) we want to use the car as a summer Sunday drive to local meets and local picnics at our country parks so I wanted to ask about rear seatbelts for car seats is it possible to have them fitted? I am fairly mechanical so could attempt myself but just wanted to get some experienced feedback from the pros (that's you)

Thanks for reading hope to give you all an update soon.

You will have to make the mounting points for yourself if you want to fit modern belts otherwise is a similar set up to a mini TBH

I fitted these to our Minor Traveller many years ago. They should fit the HA as well.

The 'drum' sits on the parcel shelf with the other 2 fixings through the floor.

I welded in extra strengthening at all three mountings just to be sure. A 3 inch square 3 mm plate should be big enough. These were welded on to the underside of the floor. Make sure that all metal for at least 300mm around is very sound as well.

Hello and welcome. If you join the owners club you will get access to spares, club mag and the rest of the forum. As you probably know HA's are thin on the ground, they do come along but be carefull on what you buy. There are a few that are better than they look. Mechanical spares arnt too bad to get, but body and interior parts are. Buy on condition and completeness rather than the model, ie, a good Deluxe will be better than a iffy SL90.

Look on ebay and other auction/advertising sites. Also on this forum, for cars for sale. If possible take someone with you who knows HA's when you view a car.

Keep us informed on what you get.

Reg is: PRX 495B

She does not have a huge amount of history so if anyone could shed any light that would be great. I bought it off a young lad in Suffolk he had her for about a year. She drive the 110 miles back to my house without missing a beat. In fact on my way home when I stopped at some services a fellow Viva owner knocked on my window to say hello.

I will post some pictures as soon as I have taken some
