Hello from Lincolnshire (spalding)

Postby matto1992 » Fri Dec 27, 2013 6:52 pm

Hi everyone, my name is Matt, I am 22, I am new to this forum, and new to the Vauxhall viva but have inherited a viva 1256CC, Green, 5 door, saloon. reg number XDO 751L It has been dry stored for roughly 23 years but has only just over 19k. Its in quite good condition (under the dust) and underneath is solid and fully wax old. The engine turns over by hand which is a plus, I have a spark but the starter motors was slow turning over so and having it rebuild along with the alternator (still yet to have it running). I will be joining the owner club, I did speak to a couple of people at the stoneleigh show that was helpful. Hope to get some photos on soon.. Thanks matt

Hello and welcome. Sounds a good solid car foryour first Viva. Ask any questions you like. The slow turning starter, is the engine earth strap sound with a good earth connection? You sure its a 5-door? Saloons were 2 or 4dr, estates were 3 door. What model is it Deluxe, SL? Look forward to the photos, we dont have that car in our register.

Hello Matt
Great looking car & I'm very glad that you are keeping it original as possible. Vivas are getting rarer by the minute. If in need of any help or query on anything, just shout and someone will be able to answer.
Good Luck
