May be pushing it a bit to get all the bits together by then. I'm flat out working on 2 houses at the moment (selling one and doing a full refurb on a rental I have) as well as holding down a full time job! Trouble is some of the bits are 60 mls away from me, I've got the sides and I think the back panel, I also have a rear seat but it could be a mk 2 !! I will also have a spare floor. ...I do have a sink but need to hang on to that I'm afraid! I've no picnic tables but you could take measurements from mine and knock some up yourself. .
I will keep you informed. Cheers steve

Steve

I'm back home now, contact me when you have any parts together (including price) and I'll let you know when I'm next down in England. Currently that is planned to be June but I may be down before then to collect a car trailer.

Thanks,

Martin

Roma passed its MOT yesterday with no advisories and only a suggestion that I should make sure the O/S front side lamp always worked - it has a poor connection somewhere!

I have been thinking about its continued restoration and have decided that I have done so much to alter the layout and specification (swivel passenger seat, 230volt electrics and leisure battery, re-arranged rear door etc.) that it isn't practical to convert it back to standard so, Steve, the only part I really want is either a sink or the loan of a sink so I can maker a mold from it to make a new fiberglass one. Sorry to mess you about but it is probably better you keep your spares for your Mk1 (which I think is the oldest one still in existence) to keep it on the road.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin, bit of a long shot, I went to School in Norfolk and a good friend therein was a Martin Palmer.
He went into the Royal Navy, me the Merch.

'Fraid it isn't the same one. I was brought up in Derby and though I applied to join the RN I didn't get in. I trained to be a Radio Officer in Merchant Navy but had a motorbike accident that prevented me ever going on board ship.

Sorry to hear that, I didn't quite make the grade as a Navigation Cadet, at Grimsby Navigation Nautical College, due to woeful math, and was advised to quit after the first term,
Dad an Allestree Derby man, said go back its a good experience , so whilst they were surprised to see me back,no more pressure whilst enjoying the seamanship etc, I did at least come away with a Board of Trade restricted telecomunications cert.
However I decided To sign on via the pool, as a deck hand , got my steering ticket and that ,and saw a load of the world and was being paid for it. Not saying it was always an easy life though.
Anyway hope you are getting on well with the Roma. My parents had an early HA, and we went up to Scotland in 1965 in that.
On security in the 70s the firm I worked for's deputy manager used a Bedford Van, as he had a German Shepheard dog. They were still popular then, albeit the previous firm before a takeover favoured Escorts. Anyway thanks for the reply.

No problems Martin. It's good to see another roma on the road!!
Ironically my roma originally had plywood sides and I put the fiberglass ones on because the wood was tatty with age. I still have them and might one day return it to the way it left the factory!!
mine is spending another year in dry storage as I'm running my green van and nearing the end of an ha pick up resto!!...
Onwards and upwards
take care and good luck with the roma. Steve

Great to see another HA Roma. What a cracking colour combo

I had one which was the same combo as the dark green one for sale in Germany. The current owner has almost finished restoring it in Adelaide. There are about five or six of them in Australia.

Look forward to seeing your progress. You are in a fantastic location to enjoy the Roma. Minimal traffic and stunning scenery everywhere :D
