Another newbie

Hi,I'm Steve, and I live near Spalding in Lincolnshire.

I've never been much of a fan of the Griffin (that's a good start), always preferred the Blitz (I've got a 1973 Manta hence the username), but I'm hopefully going to be buying a HC Estate this weekend. If all goes to plan I hope to be attending local shows with it, and will hopefully take it to Billing, although it'll probably be on Puddleduck with the Opel Manta Owners Club.

Hopefully I'll not have too many questions, as that means it's all good, but we'll see.

No, I didn't get that one with the Minilites. It's the blue 1800 auto that's been up for sale a while looking at the threads on here. Hopefully there's not a good reason that it's not sold, or if there is I find out before I part with the money.

Manta 'A', one of my favorites, owned 3 of them previously 2, 1600 S & a 1900 SR, fitted one of the 1600s with a 2 litre GTE engine on carbs, quite a performer & a sweet handling car, one of those cars I wish I hadn't sold :(

I love my Manta, it's going off for a bit of work this year. I'm hopefully getting the HC so I've still got something to show over the summer.

Yes, just got back with it. Picked it up from Sheffield this morning, a nice gentle jog up the M1 to Tingley, then back from there to Spalding this evening. I'll try and get some decent pics up on Tuesday.

It certainly seemed to, although I took it steady as it's only done around 600 miles in the last 6 years.
