Magnum 1800

Postby Kerry B » Sat Jul 09, 2016 8:07 pm

Hiya all, I am now the proud owner of a Vauxhall Magnum 1800 4 door, has been sprayed black at some time in her life but she should be Orange Tan, hopefully she will be again in the not too distant future.
Dash pad has damage and has been sprayed black and dash pod has been replaced with a black one sadly, door cards and seats are also black but on the plus side she did come with the originals cloth seats.
She has a Stromberg 175 cd2 carb fitted but am I correct to think it should be a 150 ?
I am looking forward to many years and miles of enjoyment with her.
Thanks for letting me join.

Hi Kerry, Welcome here to the forum. Your Magnum should have the 175 carb, not the 150. Don't worry about the mismatch of interior parts, you can repaint the plastic bits once you get the seats back in.

Thanks for the info.
I have original door cards and armrests to go with the seats and I am hoping to find original light brown dash and pad.

I have a brown late type 7 dial pod and light cluster but no instruments or wiring. Quite a simple job to swap over once you've got the dash apart.

Membership pack arrived today, excellent magazine, I will definitely be submitting some articles to that.
Excellent selection of spare parts and better priced even than eBay.
Well worth joining the club in case anyone was thinking about it but hadn't gotten around to it yet.
