Just joined the club and bought this car. Seems like a great car - 32,000 miles, early and late history. Clean, tidy and looks genuine. Only 1 repair to a sill. New carb and pump but rest original. Runs well except now got water in the fuel system! Yuk. Reg no LKO 83P, yellow Deluxe, 3 door - anyone know it?

Failing miserable to master the forum .........

I can'y get pictures to go up - but I'll keep trying!!!

Meanwhile I am having trouble with my little car - Same trouble as the previous club member had (Stevie) described in the tread "huuuuuge flatspot". On an incline with the throttle open more than say 1/3 it dies as if the ignition was sw off. release throttle and all is well again. No backfiring so led me to suspect fuel starvation plus I strapped a strobe to the bonnet connected to no 1 and it sparks all the way through the cutting out. Diaphragm OK, no leaks on hoses (took them all off and stopped feeds up). New carb, distributor and fuel pump (although looks odd, no filter head)

Plugs are NKG BP6ES - and carb needle is a B1 EU. Are these correct?

Yellow Viva HC

Postby Ronbo » Mon Jan 07, 2008 1:04 am

Hi there,

I saw your yellow Viva when it was for sale on London Road back in September. It looked like a peach of a car and in incredible condition. I recommended an old friend of mine (another Viva enthusiast) go take a look at it and he was much impressed too. (So much so in fact that he took a photo of it and emailed it back to me.) Very jealous of you! My first (and most cherished) car was a Viva HC M reg. and seeing your one on the road made me very nostalgic. You rarely come across them these days and to see one in near mint condition was a real treat.
Best of luck with it. I hope you can keep it on the road for many years to come.
Is it still local to Thornton Heath? If so, I'll keep an eye out for it - a heart-warming sight :)

ps Don't worry - eventhough I probably sound like one I'm definitely not a stalker! :)
