hi all just saying hello
a bit of back ground , my first car was a viva hb j reg 2 1056 sl door that i rebuilt when i was 16 . passed my driving test at 17 . and the car was written off by a idiot overtaking on a bridge 6 month later. needless to say that one was very painful ,car and me were a right mess.
anyway now 37 and thinking of restoring another HB just got to find one at a good price. might even look at a HC because i have got the full workshop manuals .
what do you think?

Hello and welcome. Suitable cars pop up on here and ebay on a regular basis. HC parts are probably slightly easier to come by, but a lot of parts are the same on HB and HC. Just depends on what you really want and what comes up for sale.

i remember rebuilding the engine when i broke the crankshaft. boys will be boys and i still got the number plates in the garage somewhere

Seems you have bitter sweet memories of the Viva ( Iave a few myself)... Hope those acquired from any new project you take on are better.
