hi im roy membership no; HB416.
as a member of the Cambridge Oxford Owners Club for several years ive organised drive it day for the Essex area for the past 3 years.
we meet up at Bath House meadow on the seafront at Walton on the naze, essex.
as i have now acquired my lovely hb i will still be organising drive it day for 2015 and would cordially invite anyone from the VVOC to join us.
we usually have about 8/9 cars in attendance and would love the boost of some viva owners.
i would like some idea of numbers interested nearer the time as i need to get parking permits from the local council.

Well done Roy - these are the sort of initiatives we like to see in the Club - I have done DiDs in the past in Newport Shropshire and managed to winkle a few Vivas out

Roy are you saying that the drive it date is the April one given(in which case I can definitely commit with my 2 door Pampas Green HB)or because you now have a Viva are doing a seperate one to the Farina one?
Sorry but I am easily confused and there are quite a lot of local shows May, June, etc.

National Drive it day is a UK wide 'event' on Sunday 26/4 - except here in the Western Isles when it is Saturday 25 as we don't do things on the Sabbath. All sorts of people, mainly car clubs, organise events and then send in photos for publication. The idea is to raise the profile of Classic Cars with the general public.

my Viva is in dock waiting some parts for the MOT
Ironic really it gets used all year around but on the one day specifically set aside to drive it, I can't.
Still there's always The Mondeo OC but don't think it would be quite the same.

Can't find anything going on in Somerset at all, which is a big surprise, so I am at a bit of a loss. Any suggestions anyone?
