Seems I'm not the only one

in more ways than one.......

Hi, I'm Adrian Miller - not that one! Dunno where the club founder is from but I'm from Bournemouth originally and now based in Surrey. My first car was a blue Viva HC 2 door, second a white HC GLS four door and my third a yellow HC GLS four door. First two were wrecked in crashes, neither my fault, the third had a gearbox failure resulting in my changing to a Volkswagen Passat.

Been toying with the idea of another Viva HC as a weekend car for some time now. Relive my youth but without the large stereo or the j-turns. Looks like many others have come back to Vivas cos they had them as cars in their youth too.

Been looking at eBay off and on for a year or two. A blue two door came up with one owner from new and low mileage, showed it to a few car nut friends and they all said I should get it. So, deposit is paid and I'll be sorting the rest on Monday. Was surprised at the insurance price, called Footman James and it was £38 including the £25 admin fee to add it to my classic vehicle policy which already has three Land-Rovers on it. Call me a gluten for punishment!

I'm hoping I may be able to make it to some shows with the car, I don't want to use it as a daily driver as it's too nice and besides I have an Audi A4 for that :)

Welcome to the Viva scene :P - insurance sounds remarkably cheap how long to go on your multi car policy I am assuming the price is for a part year - full year can be £55 - £75 dependant on model/year

Think my renewal is due in Feb, it's Footman James if you had not already guessed. They give discounts for club members such as the Land Rover club I'm in, if they don't already have an arrangement with VVOC it should be possible to get one sorted. Think I'm paying around £200 for the policy which now has four vehicles on it fully comp with me plus three named drivers.

Whereabouts in Surrey are you Adrian? I'm in Farnborough, on the Surrey/Berks/Border.
Need to try and get a few Members together from this part of the world for a Vivachat meet up!

West Horsley between Guildford and Leatherhead, next to Bell & Colvill the Lotus/Morgan/Subaru dealership though the car will likely be hiding in Dorset eventually
