Upgrading windscreen wipers?

Postby daveyc123 » Sat Mar 31, 2018 9:10 am

Hi, I am looking to replace my windscreen wipers on my hc viva. Firstly are they a 7mm bayonet fitting? Secondly is there an upgrade you can do? Wondering if there is a more efficient wiper than the traditional one that looks period correct?
Thank you

The standard originally fitted length is 14". You can replace them with 15" easily. Most are probably fitted with 15" now anyway.

I bought universal ones on Ebay with 7mm bayonet. Unfortunately the majority of big name branded ones are no longer supplied with the 7 mm fitting.

I just bought some cheap wiper blades from the local bargain basement store, pulled the blades from the carriers and fitted them to the standard viva ones, all that was needed was to squeeze the blade carrier mountings in a little to grip the blade, cost me £4 and now have two new blades on the standard viva arms.
