GT console question

On the console for the GT the back is "missing" is this normal? any pics?

yes thats normal jp,your handbrake sits in there, :o

even the cut in the end? it seems very rough as though it has been hacked through

Just came across this thread. This is a standard owner mod, to enable the console to be removed more easily, without having to remove handbrake cable to get full movement..

Yes closed, only one of my previous GTs had no cuts....

Sorry to contradict, but yes J.P, it was always open - with a cut as shown in your picture to accommodate the handbrake lever - It's illustrated just the same as yours in the Viva GT factory service manual TS982.

I tried to upload a picture from the service manual but as usual pressed the wrong button. It's on page 169 of the manual.
