Just joined

Postby Rob Wood » Sun Nov 18, 2018 12:16 pm

Hi there, I just joined the club and thought I should say hello. I got a 1964 HA that needs heavy restoration. I am 61 and a HA was my first car when I was 19. I have had it for about eighteen months, hoping to start in the spring 2019, my garage should be finished by then. The guy I bought it from had it five years with a view to restore it but never started. The tax disc on the windscreen is dated 1986 so I guess that was the last time it was used. My background is panel beating but I have been out of the game for about 25 years so a bit rusty like the old HA. The intention is to take the old girl back to a bare shell and do a proper job so no doubt I will be looking for parts along the way so will be badgering you guys for info. My son in-law asked if the car would be ready to take his daughter to her prom night when she leaves school, shes only three now, cheeky git. lol

Rob.

Good to have you on board Rob. It took me 35 years to my Firenza finished but it made an appearance my daughter's wedding. Keep us posted about the progress and of course ask questions when you need to.

your son-in-law is probably a bit optimistic - I bought Flo the Firenza back in 1999 as apart finished project
- it is currently sitting as a shell fully painted ready for assembly and has been since Jan

Good luck with that Rob, we need all the HA's we can get.
What trim level is it? colour?, pictures?
Shame you didn't post earlier, I was down at Sparkford Museum and Yeovilton Airbase, this week.
Let me know how you progress, and maybe we can meet up.
