MSD 561 clips into a bracket on the rear face of the speedo meaning a nut is only required on the gearbox end.

I would be interested in 0826/66 if you are selling it Mike ?

However if that is the one 68 Dave needs then I am happy to give him first dibs.

The 826/66 should fit your Hatch. It's short and a 72 is a better length but the ends are correct for the 7dial angle drive and the OHC gearbox. It's ideal for a 1300 GLS.

I can't remember quite what the issue was - I seem to recall that the smaller threaded end was too small for either the gearbox or the speedo / angle drive. I got all my speedo cables out and tried to pick the best one, and I'd have used this if I could make it fit. Unless I've bypassed it because it looked the same as another.

Now you've said that, I'll have to check again of course, fortunately I have spare bits so I don't have to get under the car. So maybe that won't be available after all, I'll update later. Failing that, Dave should have first call on it.

The Throttle cable you have Mike is for the later model - earlier models had a similar connection arrangement at both ends
Speedo cable usually clips in to the back of the speedo as MSD561 - 63 3/4" long - Viva 1256 1973 - 79
Not sure about the 0826/66 which seems to have a screw connection at both ends which I would associate with HB speedo or HC twin dial dash yet on your box it claim compre with MSD561 :?

Mine was originally clip in, 1975 model year, however it broke.

Replacement came out of this car, also 1975 and it is screw on ends.

Original had symbols on the fascia, replacement has words.

The one with words is a earlier dash. Changed to symbols for the 1975 model year.

Perhaps the Green Machine was a 1974 car that wasn't registered until 75

I had a look at this today, and the speedo end of the cable is too small to fit around the angle drive. It will go straight onto the speedometer, but that has a smaller fitting with a coarser thread. That's probably why it's only listed for earlier Magnums, which don't have the angle drive as far as I can tell.

All 7 dial dashes have the angle drive, certainly the viva 2300 one, the 2 Magnum ones and the GLS one I relieved from various scrap yards years ago all had.

I must check my spare speedo cables again.
