Replacement water pump had no thread in it, replacement replacement has arrived but it hasn’t been fitted yet.

Got the estate five miles up the road and the alternator light came on solid with the fuel gauge dropping so went back and swapped for the Snoot. The cable appeared to be firmly plugged in so alternator probably needs replacing. Got any Fred? Also, have you got any intact dashboards, blue for preference ;)

The symptom of your ign light problem would suggest a poor connection somewhere rather than a failing alternator. Check all the connections at the starter and the earth wires to block and battery.

I had a similar problem where the copper connector had broken inside the insulation, so it appeared connected but really wasn't.
