And again...

The seller seems to only want to advertise it for a few days at a time every few months.

It's too expensive.

For sale again. Apparently by the same seller as last winter. The pictures are certainly the same as last time.

And now at £20k even more over-priced. They're worth what someone's prepared to pay, but personally I wouldn't want to offer more than about £10 - £12k for this one - nice though it seems.

Still for sale on Autotrader - with a couple of additional pictures

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 00&page=74

It's nice enough, but it's not perfect. The sill pictured looks good at least, but the engine bay and interior could really do with some tidying - particularly at this price.

The stripes are not well executed and the exhaust system is a stainless replication of a correct for Mk II single system stupidly modified to look like a bit like a Mk I twin pipe system. Note the single prop on this Mk II car. My Mk II has the same.

After 18 months unsold at this price you would think this dealer might understand that the price is the problem.

After a couple of years the actual prices will catch up with what he wants for it, then he can raise the price again!

You might remember the white FD VX 4/90 at Cleevewood Garage in Bristol, Marcus? It was a similar nice but imperfect rare sporty Vauxhall. It sat unsold for five years at £13k. Eventually values caught up and it sold in 2018 for around the asking price.

But I'm not sure whether anything will have any value after this awful pandemic. :(

I'm a glass 1/2 full kind of guy and also slightly cynical, when this is over I think things will all be forgotten so quickly and we'll all go back to our routines forgetting all our neighbourly good will. Priorities will change and we'll all be buying useless stuff again.

I wanted to buy some wheels that were 1/2 the usual price but apparently "food" is more important. Jane eh? She'll never understand...

I really liked that VX/490 but was just 12 grand short of the asking price

I hope you're right Marcus. I hope everyone comes through this unharmed. :)

As for wheels, I feel your pain. Girls can be so unreasonable sometimes!

I think it's great..... All our mail is delivered into our carport where I unpack and clean it before it comes into the house. I can buy anything now and it goes totally unnoticed
