Brabham carbs

Postby Johnboy HB » Sun Mar 22, 2020 11:24 am

Anybody know which size needle valves are specified for twin 150 cd Stromberg's on a Brabham manifold ? Mine have 1.5's fitted but in the service kit there are also 1.75's which according to the Haynes manual are used in the standard '90' carb, or doesn't it matter which you use ?

The smaller bore takes account of the pressure drop in the fuel line when the valves open. The smaller ones allow the mechanical pump to keep up with demand by smoothing out the pressure drop.

If you are using an electric pump you should have no problems with the bigger bore valves.
