HB Overiders

Postby BobbyMel » Mon Mar 19, 2012 9:30 am

Hi, I am fitting 'Overiders' to my HB. There seems to be a problem, the cut-out in the overider does not match the shape of the bumper. Is this correct?

not really..........my advertised kits match the HB bumper almost perfectly so something is definitely wrong.
Maybe you have FD Victor overriders? The FD bumper have similar shape but no the same.

Hi Stefan, I have sbout 3 sets of Overiders for the HB. All seem to look the same. Tha shape of cut out in overider is different to shape of bumper. Do they just need to tightened on to make bumper same shape?

Any help, as I dont want to damage my newly chromed bumpers.

Some measurements from my HB ones are:
bumper opening 76mm, depth 44mm (to the flat long side)
overall length 196mm
rubber ridge 100mm + 65mm

The HB are 2+2 in a set, FD have four different ones.

From the attached photo your is not exactly the same as mine. Small differences but the photo might trick you.........hard to tell.

The cutout in my new ones matches a brand new bumper almost perfectly, a few millimeter which will tighten up when mounted I guess. Yours is way out of line from what I can see.

I think they have to be pulled into the bumper with the bolts to make it fit.

can not say but the misfit seems to be huge on yours? Mine is a few mills so something must be wrong and just tightening it all together sounds risky.

I've had a look on mine (dealer fit from year dot), there is a tiny gap of around 1mm, which is concealed by a rubber seal between the over-rider and bumper itself

I would be very cautious of clamping down in case it warps the bumper!
