A few more photos of my nearly acquired HC Estate. This was a true garage find, locked up for 23 years, one owner, low mileage. Grateful thanks to Mike Stanley for posting details of this on the V.V.O.C Forum and of course Paul Cullum who carried out an initial inspection of the vehicle.
I have been after a 1256 HC Estate for quite some time, now at long last I have a fine stablemate for my HC saloon, S74 'Arthur Dent'. With 'Arthur' fully restored and running like a sewing machine, it is time for a new project, 'The White Knight'. This is a name resurrected from the HC that I used to drive over 27 years ago.
This is going to be very much a rolling restoration project, so hopefully it should be back on the road within a few months.
'The White Knight' slumbers, hopefully not for much longer.
Static seat belts! Even the little plastic hooks that you hang them on are still in situ and intact.
This looks worse than it actually is, the vinyl is almost like new underneath.
Just look at that "finger chopper" fan blade. I may well replace this with a slightly less dangerous viscous fan assembly.
