A firenza story!

Postby Retro morgs » Fri Aug 10, 2012 8:09 pm

Well i've decided to start a thread about my 2000SL firenza after owning it for over 2 years! Basically i won the car on ebay and collected it from a lovely bloke called Baz in birmingham. The car has been off the road well over 20 years poss even 30,so it's gonna need a thorough going over.

Work has long since commenced on this car, albeit at a very slow pace! I do have a few photo's of the progress so far but i'll have to have a sort through and resize them. I'll get on it asap and bring those that are interested up to speed :D

Got some more pics of the car partially (or mostly!) stripped for inspection/repairs/modification. The floorpan and inner sills are mostly solid. The high tops are fairly rotten, usual places on the inner wing tops and at the bottom at the end of the sills. The sills also have some rot around where the fixings were for the trims. Rear arches are a bit crispy but poss saveable.

Going to keep an eye on this thread, it's good to see another 2000SL . Does anyone know how many are on the register?
Dave.

There are 19 Firenza 2000 on the register. Not sure if all of them are SL's and not all of them will be alive.
