Sorry Peter, already done! Front lowered about 1 1/2 inches - need to get the headlights aligned again
While in there working on the front suspension I found a number of surprises. Last week the rear suspension bolts had slackened off / settled in more likely but on the front, more worryingly, one of the bottom ball joint nuts was loose and the taper was loose and rattling - dangerous or what!
Front wheel bearings had settled in - to be expected as old bearings with new grease were used. The inner lower arm bolts had 'settled' in as well, again no real surprise as I had used new Polybushes for these, but one took 5 complete turns! I had tightened these inner arm bolts immediately after my run to the MOT Test Center 2 weeks ago, good old bolts with new nylocs were used....hmmm?
So, the moral here is tighten your bolts when building, go over them again after a few miles - less than 100 - and then go over them again a couple of times shortly afterwards. I certainly will check them again before setting out on the 1000 mile return trip to Billing in 2 weeks time
