1969 Viva HB Patina wagon. Now with matching retro caravan..

Hello all,

I have finally found and purchased a HB wagon (ok... estate... or actually in 'a state'...) :D Its coming up to Blenheim on a trailer tomorrow. I have not got any set plans for it except fix the rust and get it running. The registration is on hold which saves a lot of bother luckily. Otherwise it would have to go through the whole re-rego process and they, the govt mot testing places, really go over a car with a fine comb and can be quite picky. plus it would have ended up woth modern white plates and a ugly high stop brake light etc.

I have only seen a few photos of it but I have been promised that it is as rusty as I would like... holes through the sills from inside out etc.

Engine wise I will just what and see. If the stock engine is sweet I'll just run it on that but eventually put something else in. we have just this year bought a 12acre block of land and are surrounded by steep hills. 1100 cc would not be fun.

I will post back with updates tomorrow. Oh - it has some very cool period turbo wheels too 8)

Thought you might.... :D

Just drove my HB over to blenheim and as usual it went so well. I love that V6! Tomorrow I will finally be able to get photos of both Vivas together. Hopefully it will be sunny.

Yhaaaa, another est! Looks like it was Pampas Green once. Lets have the chassis/engine numbers etc once you get it home. Like the wheels.

According to http://www.vauxhallviva.com/?page_id=163, 1GN is indeed Pampas Green, and 1G3 denotes Fern Green PVC trim I think.

Cool. I quite like the colour although faded. Might possibly repaint it in a very similar colour but possibly with a cream roof.

^this is of course a long long long way in the future :-)

For now I'll continue on with rebuilding the new 2.5 v6...

According to the other codes it had a '90' engine, oversize wheels/tires, axle ratio of 8/33, disc brakes and a temp gauge.
