HA van 25k!!! (cough ...splutter ....what???!!!)

Postby lord13 » Tue Mar 12, 2019 8:12 am

sorry I must regain my composure.....

Ah...

Well.... here's that super rare Butlins liveried 4 seater van, that sold on ebay a little while ago for about a grand. Which the new owner then completely ruined by having the shell shot-blasted, thus taking all its worth and originality and flushing it down the toilet...

And here it is again on ebay...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1983-Bedford-HA-very-rare/173832000137

Now I know it's early morning, and I do need to go to the opticians soon for a checkup, but am I right in thinking this HA shaped tea-bag is up for 24K? please someone say I've read it wrong, It can't be up for that much can it?
seriously?

Going by the description below it I think it is priced at 25K as a restored van.....

The buyer would be keen all the same.

It's not really a Super Rare Butlins HA anymore either, just an HA van...... oh well.

I think that even with hundreds of hours of labour and materials, we're still a few years away from an HA van having a £25k professionally restored value.

It would have to be a top job, prize winning concourse van to command that money I would have thought.

I wonder what the cost would be for the un-restored shell and pile of bits? Probably still in the realms of ridiculousness, but it would be nice to know, I may ask just to see....

I got a reply , here it is in it's entirety :

"Hi

It is complete but in many parts palleted, stripped and sandblasted.
There are some new parts, new grill, couple of replacement wings.

£2000 as is.

No negotiation on that price as it is extremely rare.

Regards
Gordon

So here you go.... 2k as is, or 25k restored. . . I think I'll leave it where it is. I'd have loved it in it's 'Butlins' livery but sadly that has gone...shame.
