In light of my recent running issues, I may now get one to take away the possibility of a points problem. Will measure coil feed tomorrow :)

Got one sat here waiting. Would like a bit more weight for the money but if it works it works. Realised after that they're a bit cheaper if you order direct off their main site.

Ok

Think I will give this et a go as well. Do I need to buy their coil as well or will it work with my existing coil and (I think) ballasted ignition. Mines an 1159 HC

Cheers

hello you need a standard 12 volt coil and 12 volt feed to the coil the hc ignition coil wire should be a resistance wire but they breakdown over time if yours doesnt give 12 volts you will have to take a new feed off the fusebox to the coil your coil should be a ballast one but check it anyway if so get a new coil aswell i think thet sell an ignition coil and module for £42 so you may aswell buy the set to be sure

I should have bought the coil too just to have a new one for cheap. Oh well  had mine on for a few hundred miles at all speeds and it's done well. I'm happy with it :goodideasign:

Hi All

I bought the Unit but as my 1159 Hc is ballasted it recommends running a separate wire from the ignition side.

Has anybody done this ? Where di you take the feed from (electrics not my strong point)

Thanks

If I remember rightly, any pole on the 'D' line of the fuse box, engine side will give you a positive ignition switched feed. But best try this out with a tester with the ignition on and off to be sure.
